WrestleMania XL was held at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field over the weekend, hosting 145,298 wrestling fans over two nights at the biggest show in sports entertainment.
One of those fans was Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata. Standing 6-foot-8 and weighing 366 pounds, Mailata is a large man by any standards, but despite his size, the Australian-born lineman transformed into a kid again while watching the final, epic main event of the show.
To close out the show Sunday night, good guy challenger Cody Rhodes faced off against champion Roman Reigns in the culmination of a storyline that has been in the works for years. While Rhodes’ previous efforts to pin Reigns had been foiled by interference, this time around, Rhodes received help thanks to surprise appearances from John Cena and The Undertaker, two of the biggest stars of years past.
As star after star came out to join the fight, Mailata could be seen cheering, screaming, and even crying as the main event played out.
Mailata wasn’t the only Eagle to enjoy his time at WrestleMania. During Saturday night’s festivities, recently retired Eagles center Jason Kelce and veteran offensive tackle Lane Johnson saw some action in the ring, making a surprise entrance from the crowd to help Rey Mysterio secure a victory.
